What is the first thing that comes to mind when you read, I AM ____________________
1. The first thing that came to my mind was actually a few things..... I AM POWERFUL, I AM STRONG, I AM A LEADER, but it all sums up to one thing: I AM ENOUGH. Growing up and actually until the start of this year, I never felt I was enough in anything. I was not pretty enough, I was not woman enough, I was not funny, I was not fit enough, tall enough, best sister, daughter, friend. I struggled with this and I have been using the affirmation every day on repeat: I AM ENOUGH so that I know I can get through the day and who I am is enough. I do not need to be anyone else and stay true to who I am.
2. What message would you say to someone who is in need of help, motivation or inspiration?
I would give that you deserve to live your life and go after your dreams. Do not let the fear of failing or not being perfect stop you from going after it. I know so often we stop before we even begin due to the fear of falling on our face. Well, I have and continue to fall on my face. But I never give up. I learn from each experience and it actually has made me stronger to overcome it. My dreams are bigger than my fear and that helps me get through. But, ultimately to help you in any way I can and to go back to my affirmation, whatever you do in life, know that YOU ARE ENOUGH. You do not need to try and be someone else, or what you think others want you to be. You will end up losing parts of yourself and the world needs to see who you are! SO JUST SHINE AND BE YOU!
3. What is your S.C.R.E.A.M.M? Please share your experience of how you OVERCAME OBSTACLES OR STRUGGLES in your life with 1 or more of the 7 components of S.C.R.E.A.M.M (Self Awareness, Creativity, Reflection in Nature, Expression, Art, Music, Meditation)
I feel I am still overcoming obstacles and struggles and to be honest, I feel they will keep coming because that is life. However, it is how I react and handle these obstacles that help me get through it and make me better on the other side. I wish I could say I was always this way, but it just has not been the case. Not feeling I was enough was HUGE in allowing me to give myself self-doubts, victim mentality and that I could not succeed at anything. I have had trauma in my life as early as childhood. Things that I do not think children should have to go through and I held on to that as if it was part of my identity. But this year, I finally said I wanted to change my mind, as I was already changing my external appearances with exercise and eating better, but my mind needed the workout. So, I allowed myself to be more present in my work in acting class, in my auditions and just say F**k it and do it how I felt I wanted to do it. I did not "put on" in how I thought they wanted me to be. I did it the way I felt it needed in lines with their tone. And that has already given me freedom and more joy in who I am. I have started each day by reading a chapter of personal development. Something I feel that I need to help me replace negative thoughts with positive ones. I def recommend to you ladies, Rachel Hollis! Girl, Wash Your Face and I am reading Girl, Stop Apologizing now! I took responsibility(that is a BIG one) for my failures and stopped blaming others for not being where I wanted to be. I started to put in the work and take action and go after my dreams. I used my platforms(mainly IG) to help share my struggles and put a positive and honest truth to them so I can help others that may be going through the same thing know they are not alone.
4. What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from a past experience that you carry with you when making the next move in life?
Something that really stuck with me and I will admit is buried deep as it hurt, but I am accepting to let it go- Bless and release, is to not set up high expectations in how you view others. I am a loyal person and I will be there to help you in any way I can. I am also a struggling people pleaser(the mentality of not being enough) and with that, I wanted to make sure everyone is okay and I went out of my way to do things and never expected anything in return. I put so much into it, that I realized they did not see my value as much as I saw theirs. Know that as you grow into who you are, and become more confident in who you are by ROCKING YOUR SELF and going after what it is you want in life, the more people will reveal their true colors. Now there are people that are your ride and dies and always have your back. But others, will not want you to succeed and try to drag you down. To this, know that this happens and you do not need to feed into it. Take your energy into what you are focusing on as you can not control other's actions and opinions of you. So, I say...you need to make your self-care a priority and do what you can to FILL YOUR CUP FIRST. You must be your number one fan and keep going after your beliefs and your purpose.
I just hope to be truthful in helping others, especially ladies, see their true potential and they can do anything they want. YOU ARE ENOUGH and you do not need to push into anything you are not to get others to like you. I find the more honest and truthful to who you are, the more like-minded people that will come into your life. I mean, look I am getting to do this article that is spreading the same message♥
